Yvette Ten-Bohmer
Resident Art Teacher

Yvette is a proud figurative artist. She grew up in the suburbs of Newcastle, studied at Newcastle Art school and went on to complete her studies at National Art School in Sydney. The same year Yvette graduated with her degree in fine arts; she won the John Olsen Prize for Life Drawing.

As an artist, Yvette spent over a decade in Sydney, holding her first solo show at 26 then regularly exhibiting in alternative niche venues including Melbourne, and was exhibited with Saatchi art, Sydney.

Yvette has taught art at various locations since 2015 and now teaches at Newcastle Art School (TAFE)

Base Art Space invites you to join her on this adventurous drawing exploration. In this short course. Each week we will explore a selected range of processes and techniques using a range of drawing materials.

This will include graphite’s, types of charcoals, pastels, ink, coloured pencils, gesso, and different paper qualities. Techniques explore hatching and cross hatching, stippling, blending, smudging, washes, collage and opacity.
